Methodology
How StealIQ works
A sale label is a claim. We distinguish published evidence from submitted links and keep unknowns visible.
Submit a product
Paste a public product URL or exact name. We validate the destination and reject local-network and private IP addresses. Submission does not trigger a live crawl.
Match reviewed evidence
If a product is publicly approved, rights cleared, and published, we can show its recorded price observations. Customer-submitted prices are unverified until reviewed.
Read the verdict
A Steal Score is a 0–100 summary only when the underlying evaluation has been reviewed. BUY NOW, WAIT, and SKIP are editorial signals, not a guarantee of future prices. Unknown remains unknown.
Request the unknown
An unmatched request enters a pending queue. We do not infer a fake discount, predict a drop, or report a purchase outcome without evidence.
The Steal Score
The comparison uses validated price history, not a crossed-out tag. A low confidence level or insufficient observations can leave a score unknown. Published verdicts are separate from retailer sponsorship or affiliate relationships. Price movement and availability can change after a check.
Regret Radar: price-drop recovery
A signed-in member can record a purchase and monitor later observations. Eligibility for any price adjustment depends on the retailer's policy and your receipt. A lower price alone is not a refund. Automated alerts and refund filing are not active; no money is recovered by this site.
